Material Info
Pima cotton is objectively higher quality and better performing than standard (upland) cotton. It features extra-long staple fibers that make the fabric significantly softer, stronger, and about 50% more durable, resisting pilling, fading, and tearing while holding color much better over time.
Key Differences
Fiber Length: Pima fibers measure 1.4 to 2 inches long, whereas regular cotton is much shorter. Longer fibers mean fewer exposed ends, creating a silkier texture.
Strength: Pima is roughly 30% to 50% stronger than traditional cotton, meaning it withstands heavy laundering with less wear and tear.
Appearance: Pima has a natural, subtle sheen and smooth finish, while regular cotton looks more matte and utilitarian.
Cost: Pima cotton is more expensive, typically costing 20% to 50% more than standard cotton items
Care Instructions
- Machine wash cold at 30°C or below.
- Wash inside out to protect the print.
- Use a mild detergent; do not bleach.
